Dr Paton Scott (Doc) is a naturalist and medical doctor who goes back to explore early medicine, witchcraft or folklore treatments, bush medicine, plants and animals.
Doc likes to sketch the early Australian animals and plants, including those extinct and prehistoric and discovers new food and medicinal plants. She also goes back in time when women were not usually Doctors so has to deal with that. Doc travels to World Wars, visited Ned Kelly and the Scott family he robbed, who happen to be distant relatives, and to the Palmer River Gold Rush.
